You know how it is. Life happens!

To those of you late to the program, welcome to christophertrice.(posterous.)com!  I'm your party host, Christopher Trice. In addition to my previous career as a performer and self-producer, I am soon to formally embark on a journey into the world and work of a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist!  I graduated (at, or very near, the top of my class) from the prestigious Swedish Institute back in April, and am biding my time until the State Board exams in August. In the meantime, I'm studying, staying in practice, and preparing to start my own private practice.  I have been told by multiple business minded individuals that writing down your goals is essential in achieving them.  I've always been doubtful of this premise, but if massage training has taught me anything, it is to be more open-minded. So!

My immediate goals are simple:

1. Get a massage job and start making some semblance of income from my training (if possible, before the exams, via sponsorship from another organization.)

2. Once I'm licensed, start up my private practice.  This includes a specific studio location (that's not necessarily my home office,) mobile/outcall work, and "Corporate"-style chair and possibly shiatsu work.

3. Once the first two goals are realized and moving forward, I want to start the ground work for owning and operating my own health facility.  I would like to run an establishment that focuses on integrative medicine principles and whole-client care.  Not just rehabilitation and recovery, but moreso prevention and maintenance.  Not just "getting better," but moreso "being healthier so we don't get sick/injured as easily."  Most importantly, not just symptoms, but PEOPLE.

... Easy, right? (Oh Mary, how you make things sound!)

So the purpose of this blog is now to help me get those three things done. I may digress on occasion (if you know anything about me, you know that I am also a voracious video game player and tech fiend) or worse, I might not even post.  However, every time I think about or come to this site, I will see this post, and for the most part, those above goals are my purpose.
